Product Description
At first glance, it is not easy to determine that this scale from Taylor is a body fat scale?. The body fat ?electrodes? are invisible on the glass platform, giving a clean, clear look to the scale. The platform is larger than most to accommodate most foot sizes, yet still allows for a clear view of the readout. Yet, this is an accurate body fat scale as well ? it measures body fat and body water to the precise 0.1%, and operates in normal or athlete mode … More >>

I bought this scale simply because it was the first one I ran across at the store I was in and it looked decent. However, the weight it gives you on the first try isn’t very accurate and leads me not to trust its measurements. I don’t use the body fat function so I’m just referring to the normal weight readout.

When I first step on the scale it gives me one weight, and then after I wait a few seconds and step on it again it gives me another weight, often more than a pound different than the first. Usually it then “sticks” with this second weight and that’s what it gives me for every subsequent time I step on it until the next day.

What I’ve ended up having to do is step on and off the scale several times in the morning and assume the weight it “sticks” with is the most accurate. This is annoying and a waste of time, what I paid for was a scale that would give me an accurate reading the first time.

We are satisfied with this scale. Just had a few doubts to set it up at the beginning (it was displaying 2.5 kg) but it went fine after reinitializing it.

I bought this so I can track weight and BMI. The scale weight is accurate, but the BMI number is off on the high side by 10 percentage points. Also, every time you want to use the BMI/weight measurements, you always have to run through the entire setup procedure. That’s too cumbersome. If all you want is an accurate scale, this is a good buy for the money, but don’t bother if you want to track BMI.

Bought it a Sam’s Club for around $20. Good deal, right? Too bad I had to return it. Similar to other reviewers, it would take a few tries until you would get an accurate read out. I did use the fat/water functions, and it would give me two different weights when I used the functions and when I did not. I followed the instructions to recalibrate when given the error message, just hated having to do that over and over every time I used it. Took it back for an exchange to try another one, but they were out; which is probably a good thing since it seems more than one has this problem.

It’s a great looking scale, liked the easy to read display that showed your weight along with fat % and water % all at the same time, and the glass with invisible electrodes is very cool. Again, too bad it just doesn’t work the way it should.
