How High Should My Body Fat Be To Resume Menstruation?

I stopped having a period years ago due to intense running and low body fat/weight. If I gain weight, will my period return? What is the minimum body fat percentage for a woman?

The minimum body fat percentage for a woman to be healthy is about 12 to 15%. Your period will most likely return with a body fat % a little lower than that, but probably not much lower. If you gain weight, there’s no guarantee that your period will return, but it probably would. If it doesn’t, see your gynecologist.
What is your body fat percentage at present?
Some women lose their periods at under 17% body fat and others when they go below 11%, so it varies.
I’d say get your body fat up to at least 14%-16%.
HTH : )
Your body needs to have at least 15% body fat in order to menstruate. If you gain body fat, your period should return.
From what I’ve read, anything under 12 causes those problems. Everyone is different. 16-19% should be healthy for you.
