depends, guys can go down to 2-3% and be fine, i don’t know what girls are it is mostlikly 6-7%. But also it is healthy to have that much body fat, see i run track during season I’m 2% body fat but off season I’m 4-5% so it is fine to go down low. also 1% body fat will kill you never go that low
Well, Heres The Chart:
Underweight – Below 18%
Normal – 18% – 25%
Overweight – 25% – 30%
Obese – 30% And Up
It Should Be Between 18 And 25.
Its Safe To Be As Low As 6-8.
Well you will end up losing muscle if you don’t eat fats. Not all fats are bad, but the top bodybuilders in the world that go on stage to show how much muscle and definition they have, usually roll in at about 4 percent. When I was on stage, I was half dead because of the dieting and no carbs and no water just to get like that. So no, it’s not healthy to be around there, just good for show. When they arent competeing they are like 12-20 %…That’s athletic for a guy. 14 is average for a girl. Sounds like you could use some information…check out the link in my source
Depends if you are male or female as the percentages are different. Males can get as lean as 6%-8% and females as lean as 14%-16%. Anything below these amounts is not healthy to maintain, even though some pro body builders do drop as low as 2%-4% for men and 8%-12% for women, but only for a very short time.
if you aren’t consuming any fats in your diet then it can not be a healthy diet. diet means a way of eating, not just a way of losing weight.
healthy low bodyfat % is also based on whether you are a male or female. i use Clarence Bass as an example of someone who keeps their bodyfat% at around 5% for the last 30yrs.and is in excellent health . see his photos for 30yrs on site below
i don’t know exactly how low a female should go but i believe extremely lean and healthy for a woman is around 12%. unless they want no boobs and want to have” female” problems.
you can still eat good fats in moderation…its the bad fats you dont want…10% for men and 20% for women
