How to Reduce Body Fat – Gym Mistakes

December 11, 2009 by

Below are 5 gym mistakes that keep you from losing weight:

1. Always Doing The Same Workout

People often fall into the trap of hitting the treadmill for 30 minutes every time they workout.

No point – it works at first, but then your body starts to adjust to the

routine, and you burn fewer calories. To keep seeing the results, mix it up by varying the intensity or duration of your rest period. And look at changing your entire routine on a monthly period. You must mix it up.

2. Distractions

If you’re watching TV during a workout, you’re not working hard enough! Instead of relaxing while working out, use interval training. It’s short but effective.

Start off with a 5 minute warm up, followed by 1 minute of working out as hard as you can and then reduce the intensity for 2 minutes. Repeat the back and forth the intensity 5 times to get the optimal fat loss results. As your fitness improves, increase the duration of your hard intensity.

3. Holding onto the Handlebars

When your arms take your body weight off your legs, you will burn fewer calories. Therefore, use your whole body weight – that way you can get a better core workout and burn more calories.

4. Not Using The Incline

Set the treadmill on an incline up. That way it will be more

challenging – and creates more activity for your glutes and hamstring

making them stronger and burning more calories.

5.Over Fueling

Forget the sports drinks or energy bars. Limit yourself to about 300 calories – this is the same amount of calories you’ll burn during a 30 minute workout. Anymore than 300 calories and you will not reduce body fat – better still cut it off completely and stick to water.

This is how not to reduce body fat.

Do you know how to reduce body fat fast? Of course there are many methods you can try but wouldn’t you like to know what the easiest and fastest way is? Today I’ll introduce you to 3 easy ways to reduce belly fat fast. Best of all there is no starving involved or exercise, these methods help improve your overall health and in the process help you lose weight very quickly.

The 3 Easiest Ways to Lose Belly Fat

#1 – Matcha Green Tea: This is a powdered form of green tea which is very high in anti-oxidants as well as natural compounds which stimulate your metabolism to a very high degree. The energy boost it provides is a nice high, due to the natural un-refined caffeine content which affects the body differently than the refined type you find in coffee and black tea. With just 1 Tbsp of this tea per day you will start seeing results within a week.

#2 – PGX: Ok so this must sound like a chemical or drug, but it’s an entirely natural fiber extract that will bind to any and all starches and sugars it comes into contact with in your digestive tract. Also known as a starch neutralizer or carb blocker, PGX is incredibly effective at eliminating the causes of weight gain before they can do their damage. An absolute essential, the doses may seem high with having to take 3-6 per meal but the effect is well worth it.

#3 – Calorie Shifting: This is a highly successful weight loss diet system that came out of 2008 with the greatest impact. It is entirely unique and different from all other diets as instead of avoiding calories and starving the body to lose weight it actually embraces food and requires you to eat 4 complete meals each and every day for it to work. What it does is stimulate your metabolism to burn more calories every time you eat, best of all even when you finish the diet you will continue to burn fat from eating for weeks to come!

Dairy to Reduce Body Fat – (q&a)

December 6, 2009 by

Q:? I always thought that dairy products were high in fat. So, when I was told that dairy foods can actually help you lose fat, I was pretty skeptical. Is it true?

A: Apparently so. Research carried out by the National Institute of Health (NIH) shows that the dietary calcium that is so abundant in dairy foods actually contributes to fat loss. Some fascinating bodily processes combine to make this possible. Here?s how it works…

One of the functions of calcium is that it acts as a regulator of enzymes, including those that control fat production and breakdown. The calcium present within our cells is known as intracellular calcium. It differs from the calcium in our blood (extracellular calcium). The higher the concentration of intracellular calcium we have, the faster the rate of fat production, or lipogenesis. And the slower the rate of fat breakdown, or lipolysis. Now, interestingly enough, a low level of dietary calcium will actually lead to an increased level of intracellular calcium. The goal then, is to affect the balance of intracellular and extracellular calcium in favor of extracellular, and consuming low fat dairy products is a great way to do it.

Studies out of the University of Tennessee have shown even more promising fat loss potential from dairy calcium. An April, 2004 study focused on calcium?s affect on fat absorption. This 24 week study involved three groups who were placed on reduced calorie diets. The first group were given a standard diet, the second took an 800 mg calcium supplement daily and the third were placed on a high dairy diet which provided between 1200-1300 mg of calcium daily. All of the groups lost fat, with the high dairy group losing the most (around one pound per week) ? nearly twice as much as the first group. Interestingly, the dairy group lost 21% more fat than the calcium supplement group, which supports the notion that getting your calcium from whole foods is the way to go.

Combine the above results with the proven ability of an enhanced calcium diet to reduce the risk of osteoporosis, to lower blood pressure, to lessen one?s chances of developing coronary heart disease (not to mention the dental benefits) and we start to see just how important calcium really is. We should all be getting between 1000-1300 mg per day.

Reduce Body Fat With Sea Weed

Reduce Fat with Sea weed

Kelp has many positive properties which can aid in the reduction of human body fat. Especially promising is a substance in brown seaweed called Fucoxanthin because it targets abdominal fat as a means of reducing this specific anatomical areas body fat.

This amazing fact was first discovered by Japanese chemists. Brown seaweed is an ingredient used in many Asian soups and salads. It has also been proven in lab studies of animals to promote weight loss through the reduction of accumulated fat. And best of all, the fucoxanthin seems to target abdominal fat by as much as 10 percent!

The compound can be a miracle anti-obesity drug one day- especially among beer bellied men! Kelp forests are found abundant in the California coastline and this could lead to a new market of effective obesity treatment.

According to chemistry professor Kazuo Miyashita, PhD, of Hokkaido University in Hokkaido, Japan, and fucoxanthin seems to target fat by stimulating a UCPI protein in the white adipose tissue. It is believed to hasten the oxidation of fat and convert energy to heat. According to Miyashita, this is the first time that a specific protein reduces fat deposits.

Animal studies have also confirmed that brown seaweed stimulates the liver to produce more DHA at levels comparable to fish oil supplements without any adverse side effects. DHA is a type of omega-3 fatty acid that can help reduce bad cholesterol in the body. And best of all, unlike fish oil, fucoxanthin does not have any unpleasant smell.

No human studies have yet been conducted. It is not yet known if these revelations will prove the effectiveness of fucoxanthin in reducing human fatty deposits but Dr. Miyashita says there are already plans for a future trial to determine this answer. An actual anti-obesity pill containing brown seaweed fucoxanthin could be available in the market in three to five years time.

Brown seaweed is common seaweed found abundantly in the Pacific Ocean. But don?t be expecting a significant fat reduction by eating lots of brown seaweed. Although this is a promising discovery, the bad news is that fucoxanthin is not easily absorbed by the body when eaten. But it won?t hurt to add a little of this brown product in your soups and dishes.

Scientists are now trying to find a way to develop an extract of the fucoxanthin that can be easily absorbed by the body. One of the best ways to get the benefits of seaweed when it comes to losing fat is to use it in a concentrated body wrap or a concentrated cream. For shoppers planning to do your own trial to determine if the brown seaweed compound can help, it is advised when examining ingredients on the back of packaging make sure that the seaweed is not in the last three ingredients. The further down the line an ingredient, typically suggests a lessening of the product in the packaged item.

I Need to Lose Weight But How? Reduce Body Fat is the Answer

November 16, 2009 by

The best way to lose weight if you are having problems and you are saying “I need to lose weight but how?” is to reduce body fat with a healthy balanced diet and moderate exercise.

* Why a healthy balanced diet?

If you do not eat enough and get all the nutrients your body needs you will not be able to do exercise. The second reason is that if you eat too little, your body will go into starvation mode and slow down your metabolism. This in turn will slow down the fat burning process. This will make losing weight more and more difficult and you will land yourself up in the dreaded plateau. So, the idea here is to keep your body’s natural furnace at its maximum!

*How can this be achieved?

One of the most important things you need to do is eat more that three meals a day. Not more food, but the correct amount spread over about four meals a day. You also have to become conscious of what you eat. It is so easy to absentmindedly put something in your mouth without even realizing that you are eating.

There are many diets that will be able to help you. Choose one that suits you and stick to it. Be careful of fad diets though as they will without end up with you gaining weight in the long run. You will end up in the typical yo-yo dieting cycle!

* How can I recognize a fad diet easily?

The first and most important sign is if you have to eat very little filling and substantial meals. Typically with a fad diet you have too eat mainly one kind of food and very little else. If you are expected to eat buckets full of soup with very little else, be sure it is a fad diet and stay well away!

The second sign is if the program prohibits exercise. The weight loss program does not have to insist or even encourage exercise, but it must not forbid it. If the program says you are not allowed to exercise, know that it supplies you with too little fuel for exercise and then it is definitely a fad diet.

* Why only moderate exercise?

When doing exercise with the purpose of burning fat, you have to exercise at 60% of your maximum heart rate. If you exercise at a higher heart rate you will actually burn less fat. Remember, your idea here is not to get fit or build muscle; you want to burn the fat. So, if it is possible, get a heart rate monitor and check your heart rate while you are exercising and slow down or speed up as the need may be. If you cannot afford a heart rate monitor, divide your desired heart rate by six and count it manually for ten seconds.

* What about building muscle?

Once you have the fat burning going, you can also move on to building muscle. This will further speed up the process as muscle burn more energy than fat. For this you have to get a well worked out program to make sure you do it right. Once again you will find very good programs or you can join a gym and ask them to work out a program for you.

By keeping the above in mind, you will have your desired body on the beach this summer, no fear!

So, once again if you are saying help me lose weight, but how? Reduce body fat with a good diet and moderate exercise will be the answer.

I Have to Lose Weight, But How? Reduce Body Fat Easily

November 14, 2009 by

You may think this is a ridiculous statement. Everyone is battling with the question: “How reduce body fat?” Now, how can it be easy? The answer is, take it bit by bit. Start by doing the things that are the easiest first and as you lose weight and become more motivated add something and before you know it, you will have been able to get rid of quite a bit of body fat.

1. Where to start with how reduce body fat:

Here your personal likes and dislikes will play a big role. Only you will know if you would rather start by eliminating unnecessary calories from your diet or whether you would rather get a little more active first and start on the food later. As long as you start, the weight loss will follow.

2. Ways to get rid of extra calories (or empty calories) in your diet:

* Have a look at what you eat every day:

Start by having a look at what you eat on a daily basis. Look for ways to cut down without too much effort. A good example is, if you drink quite a few sodas a day, switch to diet sodas and you will be eliminating many empty calories. If you drink a lot of coffee, drink it without sugar and fat free or at least low fat milk. You will be amazed at how much weight you can lose by only eliminating all the unnecessary fatting stuff from your diet.

* Look at the kinds of food you eat:

Another thing in your diet you have to look at is the kinds of food you eat. Try and cut out fast food as far as possible. Most fast food is loaded with fat and even a very small portion can be very fattening. When you do eat out, try and make better choices. Order a salad and ask for the dressing on the side so you can control it. Anything in this direction will help you reduce and lose weight.

* Now you can make more changes:

Once you have made these changes and are comfortable with them, it is time to give serious attention to what you are eating. Now you have to get a healthy, balanced and calorie controlled diet. You should not find it difficult as you have already trained your body not to crave all the bad stuff.

3. Ways, in how reduce body fat, to get a little more active:

This is actually a very easy one. We all do all kinds of different things in a day. To try and get more active, the trick lies in looking for ways that you can include a little extra exercise in your daily routine without actually DOING exercises. Always take the most active option when you have to do something.

If you have to go to another class or office, take the stairs and walk them as fast as possible. Sometimes there are too many, then you can do as many floors as you can and do the lift for the rest. when climbing the stairs swing your arm energetically.

Walk to work or school if it is at all possible. If it is too far, still take the bus or train, but get of one or two stops earlier and walk the rest of the way. Once again, make it a brisk walk, an easy stroll is not going to do it.

As you can see, there are many things you can do when you are saying: “how reduce body fat” without changing your daily habits too much. Once you start losing weight, you will become more motivated to do more.

2. Swim at a moderate pace for around 6 hours.

1) Cardiovascular Exercises – Do your cardio exercises frequently. These can be any exercises that work up your heart rate to the extent that you are huffing and puffing for at least 20 – 30 minutes. Do your cardio exercises 5-6 times a week if you want to reduce weight or 2-3 times a week for weight maintenance. Cardio exercises will help you lose body fat fast.

2) Build Muscles – Muscles burn calories even when you are not doing anything but resting. The more muscle mass you have the more calories you will burn a day and in the course of over a period of time, the calories you burnt will add up very substantially. 4) Don’t be too afraid of fats – The fats in your diet that are bad for you are saturated and trans fat. So replace these bad fats with unsaturated fat and essential fatty acids (EFAs) and these good fats will keep your body fat and fat related diseases down. But do take your fats in moderation as after all, they are still calorie laden.

5) Complex Carbs – Choose your carbs. Avoid starchy and refined carbs such as pasta, pizza, white rice and white bread. Replace them complex carbs such as brown rice, brown bread and high fiber carbs like green leafy vegetables.

6) Food Portion – Decide how much you want to eat at each meal and then keep to it and do not eat anymore when that portion is consumed. Eat slowly to let your body signal to your brain that you are full. This usually takes about 20 minutes. Extra food means extra and calories mean extra body fat if the food is not converted to energy. So with less calories consumed, you will not gain extra body fat but steadily reduce your weight. 7) Avoid Canned Or Boxed Food – These food are usually high in trans fat, sodium, sugar and simple carbs all of which will help you to gain weight and body fat.

8) Eat Often – By eating often, say at every 3 hourly intervals, your body will think that food is abundant and therefore less likely to store body fat for emergency such as a famine. But do bear in mind to keep the portion small so as not to consume more calories than you expand.

9) Get 8 Hours Sleep – Research after research has shown that people with less sleep are more prone to being fat.

10) Do Not Skip Meals – Skipping meals will slow your metabolism and forcing your body to use your muscles for energy instead of your body fat. This is a vicious cycle, the less muscle you have, the more your metabolism slows down.

There you are. By following this step by step guide, not only will you reduce weight but will lose your body fat forever.
