Can I trust the trend of my body fat scale?

I have gained 5 pounds since January; however, my body fat has gone from a high point of 20 to a high point of 18.5 when dehydrated, and a low point of 17 to a low point of 14.5 when fully hydrated. Can I trust that my body fat has indeed gone down, even though Tanita scales aren’t always 100% accurate about body fat?

the result is different between regular scale and body fat scale, which one should I refer to?

I have an old regular scale which can only tell the weight and a new Taylor body fat scale. When I use them, the result is different. The body fat scale is 5 ponds less than the regular one. Why is there a different? Does that mean one of them doesn’t function well? Or it is just normal?

I am shopping for a bathroom scale and found that there are so many out there. What is better one that measures weight body fat and bone mass or just a scale? And what are the pros and cons about them? I need to lose weight and get and stay healthy.

How does my digital scale calculate my body fat percentage?

I just got a new digital scale, and I by putting in my height and gender, it not only calculates my weight, but also my body fat %, water %, and bone mass %. Am I missing something here? How accurate is this and how exactly is it calculating these numbers?
Oh, I also have to input my age.
