If drinking protein shakes, must you work out longer to create a calorie deficit to lose body fat?
A calorie deficit helps a person lose weight, but then is it recommended to also gain muscle mass? When lifting, I drink two protein shakes per day plus meals which can total well over 2000 calories each day. If my BMR is 1550 cal per day, wouldn’t I actually gain body fat than lose it, even with exercise? Does this mean I have to simply work out longer to create a calorie deficit?

I dont take protein supplements, no steroids, I dont lift weights. I do Parkour, everyday. I do anywhere from 150 – 300 push ups a night. I drink alot of milk. I run often. I do alot of backflips, handstands, and other acrobatic/gymnastic related activities. I make it a point to break 500 reps a night on various ab workouts. Im 17 years old, Im 5’6, and I weigh 120 pounds.

We just bought one of those Health o meter scales that measure body fat, hydration levels and bone density. We were wondering how the scale measured it, because someone told us it was impossible for a scale to measure it.
